Let's see, I'm still not into the everyday, or even every few days, posting so I have a lot to tell but I'm also in a hurry so I'll be brief.
Tim and I got away by ourselves this past weekend for a free time up in Pennyslvania, the first full weekend away together! Tim's parents watched our kids and they all had a great time. We were spoiled by having yummy food prepared and cleaned up for us at every meal. My kind of vacation! We also got to see sap being cooked into maple syrup, which is a very fond memory for me from my childhood. Very peaceful, relaxing weekend!
Our place is coming together. We have new flooring in the kitchen, bathrooms, and shower area. The bathrooms have new vanities, countertops, faucets, and medicine cabinets. We still need to paint and caulk and then the bathrooms will be so beautiful!!! I'm already in love with the new look even though they aren't finished yet. We have ordered new windows for the bedrooms and a new countertop for the kitchen.
Tomorrow Tim's mom and I will go see some places for sale. The first one is a single-family house with 5 bedrooms and a one car garage. The kitchen in this house is gorgeous, and there is a fireplace in the living room. I can't wait to see this one!! We will also see 3 or 4 other places. I'm so excited!!! We hope to have our place on the market in about 3 weeks so we figured we need to get more ideas of what is out there in our price range. I'll try to update within the next few days of the places we see.
Off to pick up Joe Corbi pizzas from the kids' school.

Wow, we have a lot in storage!
So I actually carried 4 boxes, a small table, and a cd holder out of our place and took it to the storage unit. We only have one more large piece of furniture to move out and then we will have just enough so our place won't look crowded or too small. I've always said our place is bigger than it seems, we just had too much stuff!
Oh my! I saw our storage unit for the first time today. How did all that stuff fit into our place? We have a 10x10 unit which is mostly filled, other than a foot or two at the top. That is way too much stuff to have fit into this place. And while we have a lot less stuff in here, and the whole place looks different, it's not like we are now living in an empty place. Wow, so much stuff! I'm in awe of people who are able to live a minimal lifestyle.
We now have a beautiful new floor and baseboards in our kitchen. Yay!!! We used peel and stick but it looks like tile and is gorgeous! The new baseboards are a beautiful white wood instead of the ugly gray cove base we had. Our kitchen window is fully framed and painted, after many, many months of not being finished. All this work was done by a friend, Chris, who brought over his tools. He and Tim worked a couple of hours and now my kitchen is much brighter and prettier. We've had a few comments that now we're fixing up our place we won't want to move. No, we still really need another bedroom for our kids so no matter how nice we make this place, it's time to go. But, it will be much more enjoyable for our remaining time here to see a new, pretty, uncluttered place!

Laundry
We need to buy laundry tokens to be able to use the washers and dryers in our building. We have to drive a couple miles to get them but we only need to buy them every couple of weeks. As I drove there today, I realized we won't need to buy them for much longer (hopefully!). While I have appreciated being able to wash two loads at a time, I will appreciate even more doing laundry whenever I want, wearing whatever I want, and leaving it in the dryer if I need to. Right now I'm always aware of how much longer my laundry will take and if I have time to go somewhere before it's done. In general I don't go anywhere while doing laundry because I hate to leave my laundry in someone else's way. Yay, our own washer and dryer in our future!! Wahoo!!!
