As you can see, I haven't posted in awhile. Sometimes I feel like I should only post about positive things, so when I'm feeling negative I don't post. Maybe I should get over that!
The title says it all. I want everything done now, I don't want to wait for anything. We ordered new countertops for the kitchen and the bathroom. The kitchen one won't be in for 4, FOUR, weeks! Why didn't we call and find out how long it would take and order it sooner?? That's just us, unfortunately. The bathroom ones will be in in about 2 weeks. We also are waiting for men to come help Tim fix up nail pops and such before we can paint. I have off this Friday so I'm hoping some of that will be done so I can paint all day on Friday. I really need to have projects to do - I feel more stressed when I have nothing to do than when I'm busy with projects. We have done so well in getting most of our stuff packed up and out of here. Plus, we've rearranged where things are, like the phone book, etc, so we're adjusting to looking for things in new places. Overall I'm happy with our progress but I still want the rest of it done NOW!!!! Oh, and our house has never been cleaner!! Last night I was working in our closet in our bedroom and cleaned out many a cobweb up in the back corners. I hadn't cleaned up there in many years!
Owen had a small incident on Tuesday, only 3 days after Shannon's head-cutting fall. We were at a bounce house place with the Nemecs. Karla and I had gone out for a bit and when we got back Owen was lying on Tim's lap and his face looked a little flushed. Turns out he had flown out of a bounce house and landed on his belly on a mat! He said it hurt worse than when he broke his toe. Poor guy! He was better after a short while of resting. I need to keep my kids away from bounce houses, apparently!

A trip to the ER
The call you never want to get when your child is at someone else's house - Shannon cut her head tonight so we met them at the ER. Luckily it was minor and they only used glue to close it. The wound was about an inch long but wasn't very deep. We got there about 9:30pm and left at 11pm. Not too bad of a wait and Shannon was quite brave. Phew, I'm so glad it wasn't something major, but still, that mama feeling of knowing your child is hurt but not being there to help her! ugh!

Oh no he didn't!
This is in reference to both of the guys that live here. A few weeks ago as I was packing up some of the kids' things Owen said he didn't mind if I packed up all of his things, other than video games. So I packed up the costumes and a few days later he asked about his Anakin costume. Sorry, buddy, you said you I could pack everything except for video games! I didn't pack everything else but I didn't think to ask about the costumes. Oops!
So now for the man who lives here. I will admit to being a bit crazy when it comes to packing. I went through all of our pens and pencils to get rid of some, pack some up, and keep some out. I wrote with all the pens to make sure they worked. While I'm doing this, Tim is sitting on the couch near me and doesn't say a word. The next day he asks where some certain pens are. I was sitting next to you last night and you didn't say anything then, why are you asking about them now??? I knew he had some favorite pens so I had kept those out. Don't ask about something after the fact - if you see me packing and want to keep something specific out, just let me know!

I changed my blog title
I realized I don't really have a lot to write about moving each day, so I will be posting about our life in general as well. When there's exciting moving news, then I'll post about that. Otherwise, especially for out-of-towners who are reading, you can keep up on our life. Well, somewhat, since I don't post every day.
Yesterday was a lot of fun! Karla suggested going to the Baltimore aquarium last night. During the winter the aquarium offers an $8 after 5pm every Friday night. Last year it was $5 after 5pm but it's still a good deal. Regular prices are $24.95 for adults and $14.95 for kids. The 4 Quiggs, 4 Nemecs and Julie and Ian all went. Shannon had never been to the aquarium, and Tim hadn't been recently. Owen and I had gone last year on a field trip.
I always love going to an aquarium. It's amazing to see all the different creatures - some so pretty, some so unique, and some I would hate to meet up with in the wild! There was a special display of animals from Australia which was neat to see because my sister and family live there, and my mom and her husband are visiting there right now. The kids all had a great time, and so did the adults! We stayed about 2 hours and then went to eat at the Hard Rock Cafe in Baltimore. Tim's 15 minutes of fame happened there because he and a friend were the first people served in that restaurant when it opened about 12 year ago. He was on the local news and everything!
We still have a little snow on the ground but we are supposed to have a 55 degree beautiful day here so after some packing we will be spending time outside. I hope everyone else has a wonderful weekend as well!

Packing, packing, and more packing!
Di, our realtor, came over last night to look at our place. She is a very positive person so we didn't hear too many negatives. The main thing, as we knew it would be, is to pack away a lot more stuff!
I got overwhelmed again last night about all the things we need to do, but we will do a little at a time and it will all get done. Now we need to figure out what money to spend, and on what, to make our place nicer. Luckily we don't need to get new carpet or do any other major changes so we don't need to spend too much. We hope to put our place on the market by March 1st at the earliest, and March 15th at the latest. This has already been such a roller coaster of emotions for me, and we've only just begun. My poor family!!

Our realtor is coming over tomorrow night
She will help us figure out what else needs to be gone, what we need to fix/change, and the best way to arrange things to show off our condo to it's best advantage. Tim took another load to storage tonight. I can't believe the difference when 2 tall bookcases are removed. The rooms seem a bit bigger and there is more wall space. I wish I had taken "before" pictures to see how much has changed, but I really don't want to remember how packed with stuff we were! I will so enjoy our less cluttered lifestyle!
